Vapi- The Chemical Hub of Gujarat

Surrounded by the beauty of the union territories of Daman and Dadar and Nagar Haveli, nestled in the lap of the Damanganga river lies the city of Vapi in Gujarat. Vapi holds an important place as it is the only city connecting Daman & Diu and Dadra-nagar haveli.
As Vapi enjoys a close proximity to major cities like Mumbai, Surat and Ahmedabad it has developed manifold over the years. With time the 21 km stretch of Vapi, Daman and Silvasaa have amalgamated into a single industrial estate. A lot of textile giants like Alok industries, Welspun Terry Towels, Century Textiles, GHCL and Raymonds Limited have their presence in Vapi but Vapi’s industrial inclination is more towards the chemical industry. Vapi houses a large number of chemical plants like that of Bayer Vapi Pvt Ltd,United Phosphorus, Themis Chemicals etc.It further boasts of the Vapi Industrial Estate spread over an area of 11.4 square kilometers, which was was established by Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation. The industrial estate has the presence of a large number of companies but the majority of the companies are small scale which are acting as the beacons of economic growth in India in the present days.Vapi today is also carving a niche for itself in the world map as it exports most of the iconic Wimbledon towels.
With the considerable presence of a large number of industrial clusters in Vapi, there is a concern regarding pollution but adequate steps are being taken to combat this. For example the Vapi Industries Association have established a Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CEPT) which is one of a kind and is one of the largest in India.

Hence, with an aim to help the burgeoning small scale  industries we rightly set up our camp  next at Vapi, the abode of small scale industries.
