Day 59 of Mentor on Road, USA

Day 59 of Mentor on Road, USA started with a remarkable event with the leader of Jain community of Indianapolis where we talked about the international trade scene and sectors of Indiana in brief.

Mentor on Road then had an interaction with Global Chamber members in presence of US Commercial Service – USCS director of Indianapolis who are in partnership with Mentor on Road, director of Office of Minority and Women Business Development, start-ups of Indianapolis, women owned businesses, a global business diplomat and Asian American Alliance. Lastly, we also had an interaction on healthcare with IU Health Physicians.

The Office of Minority & Women Business Development for the City of Indianapolis strives to enhance the City's growth and economic stability through promotion of contracting and procurement opportunities for Minority-owned, Women-, Veteran-, and Disability-owned businesses.

The City of Indianapolis is a place where entrepreneurs can look forward to great opportunities and a diverse economic climate. At the Office of Minority & Women Business Development, They strive to make those opportunities available to all business owners through certification, education, and outreach. Thanks to the work of the Office one can expect equal access to contract opportunities from the city, county, and even privately-funded projects in Central Indiana.

The mission of Asian American Alliance, Inc. is to empower Central Indiana Asian Americans to serve and lead in community and businesses.

Since its formation, Asian American Alliance’s board, staff and members have participated in Diversity Councils for Mayor Bart Peterson and Mayor Greg Ballard. In addition, they have participated in the planning of Governor Mitch Daniel’s Multi-Ethnic Diversity Summit.
AAAI routinely responds to calls from businesses, educational organizations, and nonprofit and government organization recruiting volunteers, boards, speakers, and requesting participation in festivals and other community events.

AAAI’s Programs include:
  • Collegiate scholarships for students from Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) and students from Central Indiana of Asian descent 
  • Seat at the Table, a series of professional development programs for Asian Americans to build leadership skills Asian Fest, an annual celebration of Asian culture and heritage Soul 
  • Salsa and Sushi, a multi-cultural professional networking event co-hosted with the National Black MBA Association Indianapolis Chapter and Prospanica, the Association of Hispanic professionals Indianapolis Chapter
Also, they have a partnership with the Indiana University School of Medicine which provides patients with the most innovative treatments and latest technologies offering more treatment options than anywhere in the state. The IU School of Medicine also creates unique research and teaching opportunities vital to medical advancement.
                                    











Mentor on Road ended its day with an enjoyable buggy ride and a peaceful canal walk in down town Indianapolis.
